PENSIONS

The Local Government Superannuation (Interchange) Regulations 1991

Made 28th October 1991
Laid before Parliament 4th November 1991
Coming into force 25th November 1991

    The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 7 and 12 of, and Schedule 3 to, the Superannuation Act 1972[1] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, after consultation with such associations of local authorities as appeared to him to be concerned, the local authorities with whom consultation appeared to him to be desirable and such representatives of other persons likely to be affected by the Regulations as appeared to him to be appropriate, hereby makes the following Regulations:-


part I

general Citation, commencement and interpretation
    1.
    -

        (1)  
      These Regulations may be cited as the Local Government Superannuation (Interchange) Regulations 1991, and shall come into force on 25th November 1991 but-
         (a) regulations 2, 3(1), 4(1), 5 to 20 and 24 to 26 shall have effect as from 6th April 1988,
         (b) regulations 21 and 22 shall have effect as from 1st December 1988,
         (c) regulation 23 shall have effect as from 1st April 1989, and
         (d) regulations 3(2) and 4(2) shall have effect as from 28th February 1991.

        (2)  
      In these Regulations"the principal Regulations" means the Local Government Superannuation Regulations 1986[2], and unless the context otherwise requires any expression which is also used in the principal Regulations has the same meaning as in those Regulations.
