SOCIAL SECURITY

The Social Security (Contributions) Amendment Regulations 1991

Made 5th March 1991
Coming into force 6th April 1991

    Whereas a draft of the following Regulations was laid before Parliament in accordance with the provisions of section 167(1) of the Social Security Act 1975[1] and approved by resolution of each House of Parliament:
    Now, therefore, the Secretary of State for Social Security, in conjunction with the Treasury[2], in exercise of powers conferred by sections 129(1) and 166(2) of, and Schedule 20 to, the Social Security Act 1975[3] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and after agreement by the Social Security Advisory Committee that proposals to make these Regulations should not be referred to it[4], hereby makes the following Regulations:
    Citation and commencement
        1.    These Regulations may be cited as the Social Security (Contributions) Amendment Regulations 1991 and shall come into force on 6th April 1991.
    Amendment to Regulations
        2.    In regulation 98 of the Social Security (Contributions) Regulations 1979[5] (modification of provisions of the Social Security Act 1975 in relation to share fishermen), in paragraph (c) (weekly rate of any Class 2 contributions payable by share fishermen) for the sum of "£6.15" there shall be substituted the sum of "£6.20".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)
    These Regulations further amend regulation 98 (which relates to share fishermen) of the Social Security (Contributions) Regulations 1979. They amend paragraph (c) in that regulation by increasing the special rate of Class 2 contributions payable by share fishermen from £6.15 to £6.20.
